A multi-room world
Distinct themed spaces, built rather than dressed — walls, set, and whatever the story needs on the floor. Carpenters and a production crew on the build.

The concept
Themed spaces and roaming performers carry a storyline across the night. No host, no announcements, no walkthrough.
A curated list of labels, publishers, A&R, sync and press. Not open to festival-goers.
Sized to fill. Eighty guests in a full room beats two hundred in a half-empty one.
Previous production — a built set, not a dressed room
The night
A side event on the festival's opening night, while the industry is already in Brighton.
Invite-only. Eighty fills the room; 150 is the ceiling.
9pm to 1am.
Showcase sets. Acts, marketing and guest list sit with Unchained Music.
The Great Escape runs 12–15 May 2027. Date to confirm.
The experience
Six elements, built into the room rather than staged in front of it.
Distinct themed spaces, built rather than dressed — walls, set, and whatever the story needs on the floor. Carpenters and a production crew on the build.
Interactive actors who move the story forward, guide guests and stay in character throughout.
A photographer in character with a Polaroid, instead of a fixed booth. Every guest leaves with a print.
Ephemeral graphics on panels through the venue, rather than one wall behind the stage.
Beer free across the night. Anything else is at the bar, at the guest's own cost.
Vox pops near the bar and entrance for reels afterwards. Never inside the immersive space.
Previous production — in character, in the room
Previous production — fire performance

Ground rules
Decisions already taken, not gaps left to fill.
No heavy branding. No corporate banners, no logo wallpaper.
No PA announcements. Nobody is talked at over a speaker.
No pyrotechnics or CO₂ cannons. We don't need them.
Not open to festival-goers. Curated industry list only.
No static photo booth. The camera roams and stays in character.
Not a stage-and-screens gig. The venue is the set, not the backdrop.
Venue options
All within reach of the festival's side-event zones.

Built at the same time as the Concert Hall, and originally the Prince Regent's riding house. A recent major refurbishment restored and revealed the original heritage features — including the widest span timber frame in the country and the distinctive ornate windows.
The ground floor has retractable 500-seat capacity and full disabled access, and state-of-the-art production and digital technology facilities mean a wide range of artists can be programmed into the room.
An iconic Grade II Victorian building, originally used as tea rooms in the 1800s. It has been through a few transformations since — including life as a notorious bikers' cafe and an amusement arcade.
Its identity as a music venue started with Fatboy Slim taking to the stage, and it has since become one of the best-loved grassroots music venues in the UK. Available to hire for live gigs, club nights and private functions.
A cultural venue in the heart of Brighton running a year-round programme of arts, culture, learning and community events, and used to working collaboratively with artists, producers and promoters on public-facing events.
It sits in Brighton's cultural quarter, ten minutes' walk from both the train station and the seafront. The flexible space takes up to 130 people seated or standing with no fixed seating, so it can be configured for theatre-style, in-the-round or informal layouts — the chancel gives a natural focal point for performances, and temporary green room facilities can be arranged.
Gloucester Place and Florence Road are both beautiful buildings and flexible spaces, suited to filming, workshops, rehearsals and events, and moments away from excellent transport links. A range of versatile rooms is also available for daytime hire.
Both spaces come with free wifi, adaptable furniture, tea and coffee making facilities and lockable storage. PA hire is available — basic at Gloucester Place, and a stronger rig at Florence Road.
The Main House holds maximum capacities of 300 theatre-seated or 500 standing, in a variety of formats. Recently refitted, it features high-spec sound and lighting kit as well as a fully retractable seating rake.
Flexible to specific performance requirements, it is set up for theatre, music, comedy, talks, showcases, cabaret or free-form events — which makes it one of the easier rooms here to reshape around a narrative.

Ballpark figures
Both numbers above are ballpark estimates. A more accurate costing will be provided once a venue, a concept and the entertainment packages are secured.
— Both figures cover all costs: venue hire, food and drinks, activities, agency time, MC, event planning, staff, overnight hotels, prep, AV setup, venue dressing and entertainment.
— Unchained Music provides the acts, the marketing and the guest list.
— Final figure depends on the venue selected and the date confirmed.
